Packaging is not just a box. For plastic toys sold in the US or EU, it carries safety warnings, age grading, barcodes, and brand identity—all in a few square inches. At Shantou WeLoveToys Co., Ltd. (WELOVETOY), we’ve helped buyers get packaging right for five years. Here’s what to think about before you approve artwork.
1. Choose the format that fits your sales channel.
Retail shelves often need a color box, blister card, or hang tag. Online sellers may prefer a poly bag or mailer-ready box. Each format affects cost, protection, and how much space your toy takes on a shelf. Tell us where you sell—we’ll suggest a format that works.

2. Get compliance labels right the first time.
Age warnings, small parts warnings, CE or UKCA marks, and material information must match your target market. A missing or incorrect label can stop a shipment. We review artwork against EN71, ASTM F963, CPSIA, and REACH requirements before printing.
3. Barcodes and carton marks matter too.
Retailers scan UPC or EAN codes. Warehouses scan carton labels. If the barcode doesn’t scan, your shipment sits. We check barcode size, placement, and contrast, plus shipping marks on each carton.

4. Approve a physical packaging sample.
Screens can lie. Colors look different on paper. We provide a physical packaging sample or printed proof for approval. You can check the feel, the fold, the print quality, and the label placement before mass production.
5. Consider cost and sustainability.
Recycled paper, soy-based ink, and plastic-free windows are increasingly popular in Europe. They can add cost, but they also support brand values. We explain the trade-offs clearly, so you can choose what fits your market and budget.
