**Plastic Toy MOQ Explained: How US & EU Buyers Can Start Small and Scale Up**
“What’s your MOQ?” It’s one of the first questions US and EU buyers ask us. And it’s a fair one. No one wants to lock up cash in thousands of units before knowing how a toy will sell. At Shantou WeLoveToys Co., Ltd. (WELOVETOY), we’ve spent five years helping buyers find a realistic starting point—without sacrificing quality or compliance.
**Why MOQ exists in the first place.**
Plastic toys involve molds, injection molding machines, raw material orders, and packaging printing. Each step has a minimum efficient run. A mold needs time to set up. A machine needs enough parts to justify the cycle. Packaging printers charge more for tiny quantities. These are real costs—not excuses.
**How we help buyers start smaller.**
If you’re testing a new market, we look for ways to reduce your first order. Sometimes we can use an existing mold that’s close to your design. Sometimes we adjust packaging to a simpler format for a trial run. Sometimes we schedule your order alongside similar production to share setup time. We won’t promise “no MOQ”—but we will explain your options clearly.
**Start with a sample, then a trial order.**
We recommend approving a physical sample first. Once you’re happy with the color, function, and feel, we can discuss a trial order size that makes sense for your budget. Many of our US and EU clients start with a smaller batch, test it with real customers, then return for a larger run.
**Scaling up saves money—but only when you’re ready.**
As quantities increase, unit price usually drops. Mold costs spread across more pieces. Material buying becomes more efficient. Packaging printing gets cheaper per box. But scaling up before you have market feedback can be risky. We’d rather help you grow steadily than push you into a container you can’t sell.
**What to prepare before asking for a quote.**
Tell us your target market, age group, estimated first order quantity, and packaging style. If you have a target price, share it. We’ll tell you what’s possible and what isn’t. Honest answers save everyone time.
After five years, we’ve learned that the best buyer-supplier relationships start small and grow together. If you’re planning a plastic toy order for the US or EU, visit us at www.welovetoy.com. Tell us your budget and your market. We’ll help you find a starting point that works.
Let’s make toys that sell—and grow your business step by step.
